I am currently a snowbird spending 6 months in Conner MT and 6 months in Tor C NM. I am delighted to say that in both communities I enjoy a wonderful art filled habitat.
The six months each year that I spend in Montana I am the owner of a large gallery on the beautiful Bitterroot River. there I am able to create using a wide variety of mediums. Pottery, leather, beadwork, silver work as well as fine arts. During the portion of the year that I spend in NM I enjoy doing silver work, and beadwork. Also, an occasional painting.
I spent 35 years of my life teaching the Art & Craft program at the Trapper creek Job Corps with over 200 students. I assisted my students in exploring their talents, entering local shows, and also national competitions. Several times escorting them to Washington DC to participate in shows there and receive their awards.
I began beading with some of the elders on the Flathead Reservation north of Missoula MT as a child. Because of that I can't tell you how much I enjoy the tribal arts of NM. I hope to spend the remainder of my life enjoying my surroundings in both states as well as continuing to learn new techniques as well as share my knowledge.
